Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends, for today, us Canadians are so very thankful for a tripleheader of American football games on our television screens. With varying levels of intrigue, here are the three games featured on Thursday (and some quick rationale from me):
- LIONS +3.5 over Bears: There are rumors that this might be Bears head coach Matt Nagy’s last game (even though he has refuted this claim). But if the Bears lose to the 0-9-1 Lions, that could be the final nail in the coffin. The Lions have been feisty all season and have managed to hang around in most game. This week, they get their first W of the season.
- COWBOYS -7.5 over Raiders: The Raiders continue to fade, and going into Dallas isn’t an ideal way to right the ship. The Cowboys will be without Amari Cooper, but it won’t matter, as they’re home and featured in a huge mid-day national televised game. I expect the Cowboys to roll and win by at least 10 points.
- Bills -6 over SAINTS: The Saints are hurting big time. A few weeks ago they lose Jameis Winston. Then they find out Michael Thomas won’t suit up this entire season. Then they lose rookie tight end Adam Trautman. Now, they won’t have their best player in Alvin Kamara, or potentially his backup Mark Ingram. The Bills, in need of a statement win, should be able to outscore the Saints in this one.
The rest of the Week 12 picks will drop at some point before Sunday. Enjoy the turkey.
